SYNOPSIS

From Riches to Rags
The rise and fall of a football star
From the field to under the bridge

From the Brazilian National Team to being homeless. This documentary shows the extremes that a professional footballer’s career can reach.

Perivaldo Lúcio Dantas, was considered one of the best right back in the history of Brazilian football. He played in one of the best Brazilian National Teams of all time, being team mates with Zico, Socrates and Junior.

He played for Botafogo, Bahia, Palmeiras and Bangu. He was at the top of his game! He played in South Korea and tried his luck in Portugal in the late 80’s ... but things didn’t work out as planned.

Perivaldo was a fighter on the field and in life, as testified in this documentary by Zico, Junior, Tita, Mirandinha, Alfredo Sampaio (President SAFERJ) and Edson Mauro (Radio Globo Journalist).

Peivaldo simply vanished from the football world, forgotten for 24 years ending up living as a homeless on the streets of Lisbon.

Find out how he lost all of his money and made a living out on the streets ... and how he returned to Brazil to rejoin his family, which he hadn't seen in 30 years.

For a month, a news crew accompanied the day-to-day of Perivaldo and traveled with him to Rio de Janeiro where he now lives and works in the Professional Footballers Union.
