SYNOPSIS

Joana has just discovered that she is pregnant, but what seemed to be a blessing turns into her biggest nightmare when her abusive husband reveals himself to be an attempt on her life and that of the baby she is carrying.
Running for her life, Joana gets on a harrowing escape, which ends with her coming ashore on an island in Azores.
Her sudden appearance in a small village on the island is seen as a miracle in the eyes of a devout and religious community. The cult of the "Lady of Tides" is born, which will protect Joana, but will also become a burden over time.
Fragile and afraid, Joana is reluctant to trust anyone. It is in Manuel Bettencourt that she will find her greatest support.
He is the heir to a great fortune but has stayed away from business so as not to come into conflict with Artur, his older brother and head of the family business. Artur's ambition has no limits and if he has to use Joana as a bargaining chip to pressure Manuel into agreeing to his deals, he won't hesitate.
